With more than 30 years of experience in performing arts education, Betty Schneider has been a director and faculty member at organizations throughout the United States and Europe, including American Conservatory Theater, The Performing Arts Project, Broadway Theatre Project, University of San Francisco, and Green Voices Institute in Munich, Germany. In 2015 she became the Artistic Director for ArtsBridge Summer Starter Edition in San Francisco.
Betty has performed as a cabaret headliner to sold-out houses in San Francisco's Plush Room, and is known for being a dynamic musical theatre performer. Regionally, she has held leading roles in Beauty and the Beast, Cabaret, Grand Hotel, Nine, Sunday in the Park with George and classically in Dido and Aeneas. Betty and her voice studio received the "Performer of the Year Award" from Bread and Roses, founded by Mimi Farina.
As a voice teacher, she specializes in teaching seamless vocal technique and passionate performance. Betty's client roster includes Broadway performers, Tony and Grammy Award winning artists. Her students are currently attending the top performing arts universities in the country including Carnegie Mellon to The University of Michigan. She holds a BA in Theatre Arts from Oberlin College in Ohio with additional training in New York and Los Angeles. Betty now lives in the San Francisco Bay Area where she is most excited by developing and mentoring the next generation of musical theatre artists.
